Stitch Farmyard Friends, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — two horses look out over a stable door at a rooster and hens pecking in the straw.

A little stitcher's folklore: Herbert William Weekes was an English painter of the 1800s, known for his lively farm animals.

Why this canvas: a reproduction of Herbert William Weekes's artwork printed in full colour on Zweigart canvas, so you can recreate the painting stitch by stitch in the threads of your choice.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 34 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 24×30 cm (9.4×11.8 in). A charming art piece for a country kitchen.
