Stitch Four Seasons Spring, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a red-roofed cottage stands beside an apple tree in pink blossom, with a path through fresh green grass.

A little stitcher's folklore: some apple trees live and fruit for more than a hundred years.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 18 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 15×15 cm (5.9×5.9 in). One of a set of four seasonal orchard cottage canvases.
