Stitch Poppies, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a red-roofed white cottage sits behind a field of red poppies, framed by green trees.

A little stitcher's folklore: Claude Monet painted a famous field of poppies near Argenteuil in 1873.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 15 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 15×20 cm (5.9×7.9 in). A bright summer scene for any room.
