Stitch Red Poppies, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — bright orange-red poppies and their buds stand against a black background.

A little stitcher's folklore: the poppy became the flower of remembrance after the poem In Flanders Fields, written in 1915.

Why this canvas: the full-colour print shows exactly where each shade goes, so there is no chart to count and you can simply relax and stitch.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 15 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 40×50 cm (15.7×19.7 in). A bold, simple piece for a first canvas.
