Stitch Pansy, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a large purple and yellow pansy with a bud and green leaves is framed by a thin line on a black background.

A little stitcher's folklore: an old country name for the wild pansy is Johnny-jump-up.

Why this canvas: you choose the thread, so you can work it in tapestry wool for a traditional look or in cotton floss for a finer finish.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 18 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 18×24 cm (7.1×9.4 in). A striking floral piece for a modern room.

Thanks for this needlepoint. Since this is my first ever after 40 years to not get a kit, loved the color # that accompanied this piece
