Stitch A Cat with Ribbon, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a grey and white kitten with a red bow sits beneath green leaves, looking up with bright eyes.

A little stitcher's folklore: Sophie Sperlich was a German painter of the late 1800s, much loved for her pictures of cats and kittens.

Why this canvas: a reproduction of Sophie Sperlich's artwork printed in full colour on Zweigart canvas, so you can recreate the painting stitch by stitch in the threads of your choice.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 17 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 18×24 cm (7.1×9.4 in). A charming gift for a cat lover.
