Stitch Sunny Seaside, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a sunny street of painted houses and flower-filled balconies runs down to a harbour with a sailing boat.

A little stitcher's folklore: the brightly painted houses of Italian fishing villages are said to have helped fishermen spot home from the sea.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 24 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 18×24 cm (7.1×9.4 in). A holiday scene full of sunshine.
