Stitch Peonies, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — pink and white peonies lie on a wooden ledge against a warm brown background.

A little stitcher's folklore: Jules Alexandre Gamba de Preydour was a French painter of the 1800s, known for his lush still lifes of flowers.

Why this canvas: a reproduction of Jules Alexandre Gamba de Preydour's artwork printed in full colour on Zweigart canvas, so you can recreate the painting stitch by stitch in the threads of your choice.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 19 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 18×24 cm (7.1×9.4 in). A romantic art piece for a bedroom.
