Stitch Cacti, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a spiky green succulent grows in a terracotta pot against a pale grey patterned background.

A little stitcher's folklore: aloe vera has been used to soothe the skin for thousands of years.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 15×15 cm (5.9×5.9 in). A fresh modern piece for a plant lover.
