Stitch Clematis, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a large violet-blue clematis flower opens among green leaves against a dramatic black background.

A little stitcher's folklore: wild clematis is called old man's beard in Britain, after its fluffy silver seed heads.

Why this canvas: the full-colour print shows exactly where each shade goes, so there is no chart to count and you can simply relax and stitch.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 11 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 15×15 cm (5.9×5.9 in). A striking floral piece for a modern room.
