Stitch Boat, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a yellow and black fishing boat with little flags rests on the sand at the water's edge under a cloudy sky.

A little stitcher's folklore: sailors say it is bad luck to rename a boat.

Why this canvas: the full-colour print shows exactly where each shade goes, so there is no chart to count and you can simply relax and stitch.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 18 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 15×15 cm (5.9×5.9 in). A breezy seaside piece for a bathroom or hallway.
