Stitch Bleeding Hearts, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — pink heart-shaped flowers hang in a row from an arching stem above fresh green leaves on a black background.

A little stitcher's folklore: bleeding hearts are also called lady-in-the-bath, as a flower turned upside down looks like a tiny bathing lady.

Why this canvas: you choose the thread, so you can work it in tapestry wool for a traditional look or in cotton floss for a finer finish.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 18×24 cm (7.1×9.4 in). A striking floral piece for a modern room.

The colors are so beautiful! I love it. The great debate is do I keep it for myself or do I give it to a friend. Hmmmmm! Thank you again for making it available! I do grow bleeding heart plants in my garden. I win!
