Stitch The Konopiste Castle, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a white castle with red-roofed towers rises above golden autumn trees.

A little stitcher's folklore: Konopiště Castle was the home of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, whose assassination in 1914 sparked the First World War.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 20 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 30×40 cm (11.8×15.7 in). A classic landscape for a history lover.
