Stitch View of the Lake, Vevey, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — sailing boats glide across a calm blue lake beneath snow-capped Alpine peaks.

A little stitcher's folklore: Vevey sits on the shore of Lake Geneva and is home to the headquarters of Nestlé.

Why this canvas: a reproduction of Peder Mørk Mønsted's artwork printed in full colour on Zweigart canvas, so you can recreate the painting stitch by stitch in the threads of your choice.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 14 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 40×60 cm (15.7×23.6 in). A calm art piece for a traveller.
