Stitch Shepherdess and Sheep, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a shepherdess in a headscarf hugs a lamb as she rests beneath a tree in a sunny meadow.

A little stitcher's folklore: sheep can recognise the faces of dozens of other sheep, and of people too.

Why this canvas: the full-colour print shows exactly where each shade goes, so there is no chart to count and you can simply relax and stitch.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 30 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 30×40 cm (11.8×15.7 in). A gentle country scene for a living room.
