Stitch Poppy, a latch hook cushion kit by Orchidea — two big red poppies with feathery green leaves bloom on a cream background.

A little stitcher's folklore: field poppies thrive in freshly turned soil, which is why they bloomed so thickly on the battlefields of Flanders.

Why this kit: pre-cut acrylic yarn bundles and a printed Zweigart canvas mean there is nothing to count, just hook each strand over its colour.

Kit includes: Zweigart canvas printed with the design (4.5-count), 100% acrylic pre-cut yarn in bundles in 12 colours, a latch hook tool, a chart and instructions. Technique: latch hook. The cushion back and pad are not included.

Knot each pre-cut strand onto the printed canvas with the latch hook, working row by row from the bottom so the pile lies neatly.

Finished size: 40×40 cm (15.7×15.7 in). A bold, cosy cushion for a sofa.
