Stitch Poppies, a latch hook rug kit by Orchidea — pink and red poppies with white blooms rise in a bunch against a grey background.

A little stitcher's folklore: a poppy's petals are packed so tightly in the bud that they open crumpled like tissue paper.

Why this kit: pre-cut acrylic yarn bundles and a printed Zweigart canvas mean there is nothing to count, just hook each strand over its colour.

Kit includes: Zweigart canvas printed with the design (4.5-count), 100% acrylic pre-cut yarn in bundles in 14 colours, a latch hook tool, a chart and instructions. Technique: latch hook. Backing and fixings are not included.

Knot each pre-cut strand onto the printed canvas with the latch hook, working row by row from the bottom so the pile lies neatly.

Finished size: 50×74.5 cm (19.7×29.3 in). A pretty rug for a bedroom.

    Missing yarn

I did not have enough yarn to finish the rug. Missing the black, dark green and the red. Thank goodness Wizardi made good on their product and sent me new hook rug. I used the yarn I was missing from the new kit.
