Stitch Winter Owls, a plastic canvas cross stitch kit by Orchidea — three winter owls in Christmas hats with a lantern, a poinsettia and snowy branches.
A little stitcher's folklore: snowy owls often hunt by day in the long Arctic summer light.
Why this kit: stitching on white plastic canvas means no hoop and no finishing, and each piece keeps its shape, ready to hang.
Kit includes: white plastic canvas, DMC 6-strand cotton floss in 23 colours, a chart, instructions and a needle to make three ornaments. Stitch used: cross stitch. No hoop or frame is needed, as plastic canvas holds its shape.
Stitch each design on the plastic canvas, then trim around the edge and add a loop of thread for hanging.
Each ornament measures about 10.5×12.5 cm (4.1×4.9 in). Cosy decorations for the Christmas tree.
