Stitch Rooster, a cross stitch cushion kit by Orchidea — a golden cockerel with a red comb stands among red roses on a black background.

A little stitcher's folklore: the cockerel is a national symbol of France.

Why this kit: the design is printed on Zweigart canvas and worked in soft acrylic yarn with a gentle sheen, so it makes up into a hard-wearing 40 cm cushion.

Kit includes: Zweigart canvas printed with the design, 100% acrylic yarn in 18 colours, a chart, instructions and a needle. Stitch used: cross stitch. The cushion back and pad are not included; a matching cushion back with a zip (9000) is sold separately.

Stitch the design in cross stitch following the printed colours, then make it up into a cushion cover with a back of your choice.

Finished size: 40×40 cm (15.7×15.7 in). A cheerful cushion for a kitchen chair.

    I would only recommend for an experienced cross stitcher. The printed pattern and the written one had a lot of discrepancies in the number of stitches, the grid doesn't match up to the physical pillow. Easy enough to figure out, but def worth a heads up!
