Bead a shimmering scene with Golden Beetle, a bead embroidery kit by Abris Art — a golden beetle with outspread wings hovers above purple water lilies blooming on a rippling, silvery-green pond. Worked with over 11,000 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 33 colours, plus 6 colours of microbeads.

A little stitcher's folklore: in ancient Egypt the golden scarab was the sign of the rising sun and new beginnings, and the water lily — the lotus — opened each morning as a symbol of rebirth. Stitchers say a golden beetle over lilies on the wall brings a fresh start every day.

Why this kit: if you love nature and a bit of mystery, this is a stunning, jewel-like piece with lots of texture to enjoy. It's a big, absorbing project for beaders with some experience. A memorable gift for nature lovers.

Kit includes: natural art canvas pre-printed with the design, over 11,000 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 33 colours plus 6 colours of microbeads, a microbead needle, and instructions. Beading thread, frame and hoop are not included.

Each bead is sewn onto its colour-marked spot on the printed canvas. Bead the beetle first, then the water lilies and pond.

Finished size: 30×37 cm (11.81×14.57 in). Striking wall art for a living room or study.
