Bead a fiery betta fish with Red Gold, a bead embroidery kit by Abris Art — a crimson fighting fish with huge, flowing fins like red silk, flecked with gold, swims against a dark background. Worked with Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads.
A little stitcher's folklore: in Thailand the betta is a symbol of courage and good luck, and in Chinese tradition red fish bring prosperity and joy. Stitchers say a red-and-gold fish on the wall keeps good fortune flowing into the house.
Why this kit: if you love bold, dramatic art, this red betta makes a striking statement on a dark wall or light one. It's a rewarding project for confident beginners and experienced beaders. A lucky housewarming gift.
Kit includes: natural art canvas pre-printed with the design, an assortment of Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads, a Japanese beading needle, a numbered key chart, and instructions. Beading thread, frame and hoop are not included.
Each bead is sewn onto its colour-marked spot on the printed canvas. Bead the body first, then build up the flowing fins shade by shade.
Finished size: 27×39 cm (10.63×15.35 in). Bold wall art and a lucky gift.
