Bead Royal Gaze, a bead embroidery kit by Abris Art — a striking eye with a hazel iris looks out from beneath a sweep of teal, purple and blue peacock-feather lashes, with a long feather curling down beside it on a grey background. Worked with nearly 7,000 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads, plus microbeads in 5 colours.

A little stitcher's folklore: the "eyes" of a peacock feather were believed to watch over and protect the home, much like a guardian eye charm. Stitchers say this royal gaze keeps envy and bad luck away from your door.

Why this kit: if you love bold, modern designs, this eye is a real statement piece — glamorous, mysterious and full of shimmer. A rewarding project for confident beginners and experienced beaders, and a memorable gift.

Kit includes: natural art canvas pre-printed with the design, nearly 7,000 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads, microbeads in 5 colours, a beading needle, and instructions. Beading thread, frame and hoop are not included.

Each bead is sewn onto its colour-marked spot on the printed canvas. Bead the eye and iris first, then the feather lashes and curling feather.

Finished size: 27×37 cm (10.63×14.57 in). Modern statement wall art.
