Under a Blazing Sun Pirate Ship Bead Embroidery Kit by Abris Art AB-976

Bead Under a Blazing Sun, a bead embroidery kit by Abris Art — a galleon with dark sails rides wild golden-crested waves, silhouetted against a blazing yellow sun on a midnight-blue sky. Worked with over 8,560 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 24 colours, plus Preciosa microbeads in 4 colours for fine detail.

A little stitcher's folklore: sailors believed a ship sailing toward the sun was sailing toward fortune, and a picture of a ship in the home was said to bring good luck and success. Stitchers say this galleon sails good fortune straight to your door.

Why this kit: if you love adventure and bold contrast, this ship is dramatic and glowing — a great bead project that isn't florals. A rewarding piece for confident beginners and experienced beaders, and a perfect gift for sailors and pirate fans.

Kit includes: natural art canvas pre-printed with the design, over 8,560 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 24 colours, Preciosa No. 13 microbeads in 4 colours with a microbead needle, Japanese beading needles, beading thread, and instructions with a printed colour key. Frame not included.

Each bead is sewn onto its colour-marked spot on the printed canvas. Bead the ship first, then the sun, waves and sky.

Finished size: 22×33 cm (8.66×12.99 in). Dramatic nautical wall art.
