Family Tree String Art Kit by Abris Art ABC-019

Create a family tree with Tree, a string art kit by Abris Art — a leafy green tree with a dark trunk and spreading branches rises above bold green "FAMILY" lettering on a rich brown wooden board. Simple to make, and full of meaning once it's on the wall.

A little crafter's folklore: the tree of life appears in almost every culture as a symbol of family, roots and growth, and planting a tree for a new home or a new baby is an old custom for luck. Crafters say a family tree made by hand keeps a family rooted together, however far its branches grow.

Why this kit: if you've never tried string art, this is an easy, relaxing way in — tap in the nails along the template, wind the thread, and watch the tree grow in an afternoon. It's a meaningful family project to make with kids, and a heartfelt housewarming, anniversary or grandparents' gift.

Kit includes: a wooden board, nails, 4 colours of thread (52 m) on an organizer, and instructions with a pattern.

Fix the pattern to the board, hammer the nails along the outlines, then wind each colour of thread from nail to nail to fill the leaves, trunk and lettering.

Finished size: about 19×29 cm (7.5×11.4 in). Warm wall decor for a hallway or living room, and a meaningful gift for the whole family.
