Bead Winter Wizard, a two-sided Christmas ornament kit by Abris Art — a Christmas gnome with a red hat and snowy white beard peeks out among holly and berries on one side; on the reverse, a snow-covered log cabin with warm glowing windows. Worked with over 608 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads and finished with a ribbon for hanging.

A little stitcher's folklore: in Scandinavia the Christmas gnome (tomte or nisse) guards the house and farm, bringing luck to families who remember to leave him a bowl of porridge. Stitchers say a gnome on the tree keeps the home safe and happy all winter.

Why this kit: if you love cosy Scandi Christmas decor, this little gnome is adorable and quick to make. Great for beginners, and a sweet stocking filler or keepsake.

Kit includes: natural art canvas pre-printed with both sides of the design, a second canvas for finishing, over 608 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads, a Japanese beading needle, beading thread, sealant, decorative ribbon, and instructions with a symbol key.

Bead both sides following the symbol key, then join them with the finishing canvas and sealant and add the ribbon hanger.

Finished size: about 6.6 cm (2.6 in) across. A two-sided keepsake ornament for your tree.

Love these ornament kits. Always turn out lovely. I make them into 2 ornaments, adding felt to the back of each. Sometimes I'll change the bead color. They all will get used eventually!
