Bead Easter Star, a two-sided beaded Easter egg ornament kit by Abris Art — a dove-grey egg decorated with a red and gold eight-point folk star, in the style of traditional Ukrainian pysanky, finished with a ribbon for hanging. Worked with over 722 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 4 colours.

A little stitcher's folklore: in Ukrainian tradition the eight-point star on a pysanka is a symbol of the sun, life and good fortune, and a decorated egg in the home was said to protect it all year. Stitchers say an Easter star keeps the house bright and blessed.

Why this kit: if you love folk-art Easter decor, this egg is elegant and quick to make. Great for beginners, and a lovely Easter gift or family keepsake.

Kit includes: natural art canvas pre-printed with both sides of the design, a second canvas for finishing, over 722 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 4 colours, a Japanese beading needle, beading thread, decorative filler, decorative ribbon, and instructions with a symbol key.

Bead both sides following the symbol key, then join them with the finishing canvas, fill lightly and add the ribbon hanger.

Finished size: about 7.5×5 cm (2.95×1.97 in). A keepsake Easter ornament.
