Watercolor Fantasy Poppies Counted Cross-Stitch Kit by Abris Art AH-178

Stitch Watercolor Fantasy, a floral counted cross-stitch kit by Abris Art — red and orange poppies with dark centres and fine black outlines bloom over soft washes of colour, just like a loose watercolour painting. Worked on 100% cotton Aida in 28 colours of embroidery floss, much of the white fabric is left open, so it breathes like paper.

A little stitcher's folklore: poppies have stood for sleep, dreams and remembrance since ancient times — the Greeks gave them to Hypnos, the god of sleep. Country lore says a poppy by the bed brings sweet dreams. Stitchers say a bunch of poppies on the wall keeps both good dreams and good memories close.

Why this kit: if you love modern, painterly florals, this design gives you gallery-style wall art without stitching every inch of the background. It's a relaxing, rewarding project for confident beginners and experienced stitchers alike. A beautiful gift for flower lovers.

Kit includes: 100% cotton Aida canvas, a cross stitch needle, 28 colours of embroidery floss on an organizer, a printed symbol chart, and instructions in 8 languages.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the symbol chart and placing each cross on the Aida grid with the matching floss colour. Stitch the poppies and colour washes, then add the fine outlines.

Finished size: 28×28 cm (11.02×11.02 in). Modern floral wall art for a living room or bedroom.
