Stitch The Sun of Sicily, a landscape counted cross-stitch kit by Abris Art — a big golden sun rises over blue mountains and a sparkling lake, with a pastel Italian village along the shore and ripe orange trees in the foreground. Worked on 100% cotton Aida in 51 colours of floss.

A little stitcher's folklore: in Sicily oranges were a symbol of love and plenty, and orange blossom was worn by brides for a happy marriage. Stitchers say a Mediterranean sunrise on the wall brings warmth and sunshine into the house, whatever the weather outside.

Why this kit: if you dream of Italian summers, this bright, cheerful landscape is your escape — 51 shades of sunshine and sea. It's an absorbing project for confident beginners and experienced stitchers. A lovely gift for travellers.

Kit includes: 100% cotton Aida canvas, a cross stitch needle, 51 colours of embroidery floss on an organizer, a printed symbol chart, and instructions in 8 languages.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the symbol chart and placing each cross on the Aida grid with the matching floss colour. Stitch the sun and sky, then the village, water and orange trees.

Finished size: 25×30 cm (9.84×11.81 in). Sunny Mediterranean wall art.
