Stitch Chittering About Winter, a counted cross-stitch kit by Abris Art — two little songbirds with red caps and red-tipped wings sit face to face on a snowy branch, among red winter berries and sprigs of pine. Worked on 100% cotton Aida in 29 colours of floss.

A little stitcher's folklore: a pair of birds is an old symbol of love and a happy couple, and birds visiting in winter were said to bring news from loved ones far away. Stitchers say two birds together keep a home warm through the coldest season.

Why this kit: if you love cosy winter scenes, these chatty birds are sweet and charming, perfect from December right through to spring. A satisfying project for confident beginners, and a lovely gift for couples and bird lovers.

Kit includes: 100% cotton Aida canvas, a cross stitch needle, 29 colours of embroidery floss on an organizer, a printed symbol chart, and instructions in 8 languages.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the symbol chart and placing each cross on the Aida grid with the matching floss colour. Stitch the birds first, then the branch, berries and pine.

Finished size: 25×25 cm (9.84×9.84 in). Cosy winter decor and a thoughtful gift.
