Stitch Misty Evening, a counted cross-stitch kit by Abris Art — an iridescent jewel beetle in blue and violet rests among bright pink flowers and green leaves, against a midnight-blue background traced with shimmering silver leaf outlines. Worked on 100% cotton Aida in 29 colours of floss, plus metallic thread.

A little stitcher's folklore: in ancient Egypt the scarab was a sacred amulet of the rising sun and new beginnings, and a beetle in the garden was always a good sign. Stitchers say a jewel beetle brings good luck and a fresh start.

Why this kit: if you love dark botanical style, this design is moody, jewel-toned and full of shimmer. A satisfying project for stitchers with a little experience, and a distinctive gift for nature lovers.

Kit includes: 100% cotton Aida canvas, a cross stitch needle, 29 colours of embroidery floss on an organizer, decorative metallic thread, a printed symbol chart, and instructions in 8 languages.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the symbol chart and placing each cross on the Aida grid with the matching floss colour. Stitch the beetle and flowers first, then the background and metallic leaf outlines.

Finished size: 30×22 cm (11.81×8.66 in). Moody botanical wall art.
