Stitch Best Hen Friends, a folk art counted cross-stitch kit by Abris Art — two cheerful hens in orange, cream and red patterns face each other among stylised tulips, berries and little flowers on a deep navy background. Worked on 100% cotton Aida in 22 colours of floss.

A little stitcher's folklore: in Ukrainian and Slavic folk art, the hen is a symbol of a caring home, a busy family and plenty on the table. Stitchers say two hens together bring friendship and a well-kept, happy kitchen.

Why this kit: if you love folk art and farmhouse style, these hens are bright, cheerful and fun to stitch. A satisfying project for confident beginners, and a sweet gift for a best friend, a baker or a chicken keeper.

Kit includes: 100% cotton Aida canvas, a cross stitch needle, 22 colours of embroidery floss on an organizer, a printed symbol chart, and instructions in 8 languages.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the symbol chart and placing each cross on the Aida grid with the matching floss colour. Stitch the hens first, then the folk flowers and background.

Finished size: 23×23 cm (9.06×9.06 in). Cheerful kitchen decor and a gift for a friend.
