Stitch Whisper of the Wind, a coastal counted cross-stitch kit by Abris Art — wooden shutters open onto a round window looking out over turquoise waves, a sandy shore and a red-and-white lighthouse, with seashells, a starfish and dried grasses on the sill. Worked on 100% cotton Aida in 36 colours of floss.

A little stitcher's folklore: a lighthouse has always meant safe passage home, and sailors believed a shell on the windowsill kept the sea's blessing in the house. Stitchers say a lighthouse by the window guides your loved ones safely back.

Why this kit: if you love the seaside, this window view brings a fresh sea breeze into any room. An absorbing project for confident beginners and experienced stitchers, and a lovely gift for a beach house or sea lover.

Kit includes: 100% cotton Aida canvas, a cross stitch needle, 36 colours of embroidery floss on an organizer, a printed symbol chart, and instructions in 8 languages.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the symbol chart and placing each cross on the Aida grid with the matching floss colour. Stitch the sea view and lighthouse first, then the shutters, sill and shells.

Finished size: 26×27 cm (10.24×10.63 in). Coastal wall art for a bathroom, hallway or beach house.
