Stitch A Quiet Blizzard, a winter counted cross-stitch kit by Abris Art — three goldfinches with red faces and yellow wing bars perch on snow-dusted dried flower heads and grasses in a soft, pale winter landscape. Worked on 100% cotton Aida in 28 colours of floss.

A little stitcher's folklore: goldfinches were said to bring joy and good health, and birds that stay through the winter were a sign that spring will surely return. Stitchers say goldfinches in the snow keep hope bright through the coldest days.

Why this kit: if you love wildlife and quiet winter scenes, these goldfinches are delicate and beautiful — perfect from December to March. A satisfying project for confident beginners, and a lovely gift for birdwatchers.

Kit includes: 100% cotton Aida canvas, a cross stitch needle, 28 colours of embroidery floss on an organizer, a printed symbol chart, and instructions in 8 languages.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the symbol chart and placing each cross on the Aida grid with the matching floss colour. Stitch the goldfinches first, then the snowy stems and grasses.

Finished size: 22×28 cm (8.66×11.02 in). Peaceful winter wall art.
