Stitch Mediterranean Reverie, a counted cross-stitch kit by Abris Art — a ginger cat naps in a window with open blue shutters and yellow curtains, beneath a terracotta tile roof and the branches of a fruit-laden orange tree, with flowers blooming below. Worked on 100% cotton Aida in 45 colours of floss.

A little stitcher's folklore: a cat in the window has always been the sign of a happy home, and in the Mediterranean, citrus trees by the house were said to bring health and good luck. Stitchers say this sunny window keeps summer and contentment in the home.

Why this kit: if you dream of Mediterranean summers, this sunny scene is warm and relaxing. An absorbing project for confident beginners and experienced stitchers, and a lovely gift for cat lovers and travellers.

Kit includes: 100% cotton Aida canvas, a cross stitch needle, 45 colours of embroidery floss on an organizer, a printed symbol chart, and instructions in 8 languages.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the symbol chart and placing each cross on the Aida grid with the matching floss colour. Stitch the window and cat first, then the roof, tree and flowers.

Finished size: 18×34 cm (7.09×13.39 in). Sunny wall art for a narrow space.
