Stitch Secret Garden, a counted cross-stitch kit by Abris Art — a glossy black raven perches among a lush tangle of blush-pink peonies, deep rose buds, dusky leaves and bare brown twigs, on white canvas. Worked on white 14-count Aida in 33 colours of floss.

A little stitcher's folklore: ravens are the wise birds of legend — Odin's ravens brought him news of the world, and legend says the kingdom stays safe as long as ravens remain at the Tower of London. Among peonies, the flowers of love and prosperity, stitchers say the raven guards the garden's secrets and the home's happiness.

Why this kit: if you love dark-romantic botanicals, this raven among peonies is elegant and striking. A satisfying project for confident beginners, and a distinctive gift for gothic-garden lovers.

Kit includes: white 14-count Aida canvas (32×32 cm), a cross stitch needle, 74 m of embroidery floss in 33 colours on an organizer, a counted cross stitch pattern, and instructions.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the pattern and placing each cross on the Aida grid with the matching floss colour. Stitch the raven first, then the peonies, buds and branches.

Finished size: 22×22 cm (8.66×8.66 in). Dark-romantic botanical wall art.
