Stitch Sun's Kiss, a small counted cross-stitch kit by Abris Art — a violet butterfly with golden eye-spots rests among delicate, lightly sketched wildflowers and grasses on white canvas. Worked on 100% cotton Zweigart canvas in 13 colours of floss.

A little stitcher's folklore: a butterfly visiting you is said to bring good news, and a purple butterfly in particular was a sign of good fortune on the way. Stitchers say a butterfly kissed by the sun brings bright, happy days.

Why this kit: if you want a quick, pretty project, this butterfly is simple and relaxing with just 13 colours — great for beginners. A sweet small gift for any occasion.

Kit includes: 100% cotton Zweigart canvas, an embroidery hoop that doubles as a frame, a cross stitch needle, 13 colours of cotton floss on an organizer card, a printed symbol chart, and instructions in 8 languages.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the symbol chart and placing each cross with the matching floss colour. Stitch the butterfly first, then the fine wildflower outlines.

Finished size: 17×17 cm (6.69×6.69 in). Ready to hang in its hoop — a sweet small piece for a shelf or gallery wall.
