Stitch Direction to Harmony, a small counted cross-stitch kit by Abris Art — a vintage pink compass rose sits among blooming pink peonies, lilac flowers and green leaves, with bead accents. Worked on 100% cotton Zweigart canvas in 20 colours of floss, with Preciosa beads.

A little stitcher's folklore: a compass always points the way home, and peonies are the flower of love and prosperity. Stitchers say a compass among peonies guides you toward a harmonious, happy life.

Why this kit: if you love romantic, vintage-inspired designs, this compass is pretty and meaningful. The hoop is included, so it's ready to hang when you're done — great for beginners and a thoughtful gift for a graduate or traveller.

Kit includes: 100% cotton Zweigart canvas, an embroidery hoop that doubles as a frame, a cross stitch needle, 20 colours of cotton floss on an organizer card, Preciosa beads and a beading needle, a printed symbol chart, and instructions in 8 languages.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the symbol chart and placing each cross with the matching floss colour. Stitch the compass first, then the peonies, and add the beads last.

Finished size: 17×17 cm (6.69×6.69 in). Ready to hang in its hoop.
