Bead Respectable Peacock, a mini bead embroidery kit by Abris Art — a proud peacock in profile, its neck shimmering in cobalt, blue and emerald scales and its head crowned with a lavish crest of orange, turquoise, violet and yellow feathers, on a pale watercolour background. Worked with over 1,990 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 14 colours.

A little stitcher's folklore: in India and Persia the peacock stood for royalty, beauty and protection, and its many "eyes" were said to watch over the home. Stitchers say a peacock on the wall brings dignity and a touch of luxury to any room.

Why this kit: if you love bold colour, this peacock is a showstopper in a small size — every bead catches the light. A rewarding project for beginners and experienced beaders, and an eye-catching gift.

Kit includes: natural art canvas pre-printed with the design, over 1,990 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 14 colours, Japanese beading needles, beading thread, and instructions with a printed colour key. Frame not included.

Each bead is sewn onto its colour-marked spot on the printed canvas. Bead the head and eye first, then the scaled neck and feather crest.

Finished size: 15×15 cm (5.9×5.9 in). Colourful small wall art and a striking gift.
