Bead Dancing Among the Waves, a mid-sized bead embroidery kit by Abris Art — two koi fish, one fiery orange and one silver-white with flowing fins, circle each other through swirling teal and white waves in a graceful yin-yang composition. Worked with over 3,640 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 19 colours.
A little stitcher's folklore: in Japan and China koi stand for perseverance and good fortune — legend says a koi that swims up the waterfall becomes a dragon — and a pair of koi is a symbol of harmony in love. Stitchers say two koi bring balance and luck to the home.
Why this kit: if you love Asian art and flowing movement, these koi are elegant and full of shimmer. A satisfying project for beginners and experienced beaders, and a meaningful wedding or anniversary gift.
Kit includes: natural art canvas pre-printed with the design, over 3,640 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 19 colours, Japanese beading needles, beading thread, and instructions with a printed colour key. Frame not included.
Each bead is sewn onto its colour-marked spot on the printed canvas. Bead the two koi first, then the swirling waves.
Finished size: 20×20 cm (7.87×7.87 in). Harmonious wall art and a meaningful gift.
