Bead a celebratory card with Gifts Firework, a bead embroidery kit by Abris Art — a wobbly tower of wrapped presents in red, green and gold, with a garland of golden stars bursting out of the top like fireworks. Worked with over 696 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in just 5 colours.

A little stitcher's folklore: they say what you give comes back to you twice over, and a gift wrapped by hand holds the giver's good wishes. Stitchers say a handmade card is a present in itself.

Why this kit: if you want a quick, personal card for Christmas, a birthday or any celebration, this is a lovely little make — only 5 colours, perfect for beginners. It comes with a frame and a magnet so it can be kept and displayed.

Kit includes: natural art canvas pre-printed with the card design, over 696 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 5 colours, a Japanese beading needle, a frame, a magnet, and instructions with a symbol key.

Each bead is sewn onto its marked spot on the printed canvas. When finished, mount it in the card frame and add the magnet if you like.

Beaded area: 8×8 cm (3.15×3.15 in). A handmade greeting card and keepsake.
