Stitch Red Flower, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a single bright red rose-like bloom on a short stem with two big green leaves, stitched in bold, simple blocks of colour on white 14-count Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: a red flower given by a child was once said to bring a whole year of happiness to whoever received it.

Why this kit: the simplest of first projects with only 8 colours and large squares — perfect for children and complete beginners.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Madeira stranded cotton threads in 8 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the red petals first, then the leaves and stem, using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 8×9 cm (3.1×3.5 in). A bright mini picture for a card or small frame and a great first kit for young stitchers.
