Stitch Poppies, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — two bright red poppies with dark centres and feathery green leaves, worked in bold, simple blocks of colour on 14-count Aida. A tiny first project for children and beginners.

A little stitcher's folklore: poppies were once said to bring sweet dreams, so a little poppy picture was often hung above a child's bed.

Why this kit: a perfect first cross stitch: small, only 8 colours and big 14-count squares that are easy to see and count.

Kit includes: 14-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), stranded cotton threads in 8 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the red petals first, then the dark centres, and finish with the leaves using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 9×6.5 cm (3.5×2.6 in). A sweet mini picture for a card or small frame, and a great first kit for young stitchers.
