Stitch Black Cat, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a sleek black cat strolling along a strip of green grass with its tail held high, worked in bold, simple blocks of colour on 14-count Aida. A tiny first project for children and beginners.

A little stitcher's folklore: a black cat crossing your path is thought to be lucky in Britain — and this one is only out for a walk.

Why this kit: a perfect first cross stitch: small, only 4 colours and big 14-count squares that are easy to see and count.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Madeira stranded cotton threads in 4 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the black body first, then the grey highlights, and finish with the green grass using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 10×6 cm (3.9×2.4 in). A sweet mini picture for a card or small frame, and a great first kit for young stitchers.
