Stitch Unicorn on a Rainbow, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a sleepy baby unicorn with a golden mane sits in front of a pastel rainbow and fluffy green clouds, with little stars around and a name and birth date below. The chart shows the name Amelie and a sample date; you can chart your own name and date in the same lettering.

A little stitcher's folklore: an old nursery belief says a rainbow over a new baby means a life full of colour and luck, and a unicorn keeps watch over their dreams.

Why this kit: a sweet, personal keepsake for a new baby, christening or first birthday — small and quick enough to finish in good time.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 29 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the unicorn first, then the rainbow and clouds, and finish with the stars, name and date. Plan your own lettering on the chart before you begin so it sits centred.

Finished size: 15×14.5 cm (5.9×5.7 in). A magical nursery keepsake and a thoughtful handmade gift for new parents.
