Stitch Happy Owl, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a round brown owl with huge yellow eyes sits among colourful garden flowers and green grass, while a butterfly, bumblebees and ladybirds buzz around him against a patch of blue sky.

A little stitcher's folklore: an owl in the garden was said to keep watch over the flowers at night, and a ladybird on your hand means good luck is on its way.

Why this kit: a cheerful, quick project on easy 14-count Aida with only 18 colours — great for children's rooms and newer stitchers.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 18 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the big yellow eyes first, then the owl's brown feathers, and finish with the flowers, insects and blue background using the chart.

Finished size: 13×13 cm (5.1×5.1 in). A happy little picture for a child's room and a fun gift for owl lovers.
