A little stitcher's folklore: a chick at Easter stands for new beginnings, and families once hung a picture of one by the door to welcome spring.

Why this kit: a sweet, cheerful Easter design with just 30 colours — quick, fun and great for beginners.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 30 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the chick's face, then the hat and egg, and finish with the flowers and lettering using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 17×16 cm (6.7×6.3 in). A cheerful Easter picture to bring out every spring and a sweet gift.
