Stitch The Squirrel's Gift, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a sweet red squirrel with big shiny eyes, a bushy tail and a frilly pink dress holds out a little green gift box with a bow.

A little stitcher's folklore: squirrels are the thriftiest creatures in the forest, so a squirrel bringing a present is a sign of plenty to come.

Why this kit: a charming little design with 29 colours on easy-to-count 14-count Aida — ideal for beginners and children.

Kit includes: 14-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 29 colours, a needle, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions (a QR code inside also gives you a digital PDF of the pattern). A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the eyes and face, then the pink dress, and finish with the tail and gift box using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 10×17 cm (3.9×6.7 in). A sweet picture for a child's room and a lovely little gift.
