A little stitcher's folklore: a butterfly on the young wheat was once said to promise a warm spring and a good harvest. Stitchers say it's the first sign that winter is over.

Why this kit: a small, graceful design with only 24 colours — quick to stitch and lovely for a spring wall or a gift.

Kit includes: 18-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 24 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the butterfly's wings first, then the wheat ear, and finish with the long grasses using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 17.5×28.5 cm (6.9×11.2 in). A light spring picture to frame and a thoughtful small gift.
