Stitch Peonies, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a lush bouquet of full-blown pink, cream and deep rose peonies with little sprigs of pink blossom sits in a round glass vase. The soft watercolour look and open white background keep it light and romantic. Based on artwork by Elena Bazanova.

A little stitcher's folklore: peonies are the flower of good fortune and happy marriages, and a vase of them was once said to bring prosperity into a home. Many stitchers make this one as a wedding or anniversary gift.

Why this kit: a romantic floral that brings a bouquet into your home that never fades. The layered petals are a joy to stitch for anyone who loves shading.

Kit includes: 18-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 39 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the deep pink peonies in the centre, then work out to the cream flowers and blossom sprigs, and finish with the glass vase using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 34.5×23 cm (13.6×9.1 in). A romantic floral picture for the bedroom or living room and a beautiful wedding or anniversary gift.
