Stitch Micky the Kitty, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a long-haired grey-and-white kitten sits up proudly with one paw raised and its fluffy tail curled round, gazing upwards with an air of great importance. Soft greys and creams on white Aida give the fur a lovely silky look.

A little stitcher's folklore: an old saying goes that a cat washing behind its ears means visitors are coming. Stitchers say Micky is simply getting ready to be admired.

Why this kit: a sweet, elegant cat portrait with only 20 colours — relaxing to stitch and a perfect gift for any cat lover.

Kit includes: 18-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 20 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the eyes and nose, then build up the fur from the darkest greys to the white highlights, and finish with the tail using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 19.5×27 cm (7.7×10.6 in). A charming cat portrait to frame and a lovely gift for cat lovers.
